Remember How I Said I Like Patterned Tights?

I ordered some fishnets so Amazon suggested I might want a ridding crop lol.

Steampunk

While I am way to old and not dramatic enough (believe me that's saying something) to take up being goth (also I'm not fond of the music) I feel I could embrace Steampunk. Maybe not completely, I'm not up for full length skirts with bustles but I could totally wear this.

Strangely their seems to be some overlap with pirate couture (I didn't know there was such a thing either). And I've had a thing about pirates almost as long as I've had a thing about vampires (in other words since I was six or so) and therefor I really like this shirt.

These next three come from a site called Clockwork Couture.
No I wouldn't actually wear this (or rather I couldn't pull it off) but come one it's awesome.

This I could wear to work and it would blend right in with the rest of my wardrobe

And I don't know why but I kinda love this shirt. It's whimsical.

Heavy Red

Here's a site I found a while ago called Heavy Red . As I mentioned in my previous post I'm liking some goth like styles. Does this mean I'm going to start looking like this?
Again no but if I had somewhere to wear it I could totally rock that dress.

I fully intend to buy these stockings. I've been wearing patterned tights and/or stockings for years and I always wanted some that looked just like this.

But I Do Wear A LOT of Eyeliner

So over the last year or so I've found that I'm really attracted to some goth(ish) fashion statements. Does this mean I'm going to start dressing like this?

Uh noooo. Not unless I'm going to a costume party or I'm in a play or something. But that is a mighty cool picture (sorry I don't actually know the original source).

The thing is what I really like is Victorian inspired fashion. As illustrated here. And I've always loved things that were well a little dark or spooky (Edward Gorey, Edgar Allen Poe, Ummm some other guy named Ed...).

By the way I knew there was a difference between Goth and Vampire (thanks to South Park) but apparently there's also Gothic Lolita (which is different from Goth) and Steampunk which is a whole other thing. And then there's EMO which oddly gets confused with Goth but seems to me to be related to Punk (which used to mean something totally different). I spent a LONG time on google trying to straighten out all the different trends and mostly just got confused. I also found out that Cosplay is not a fetish thing (I was confused because I kept seeing the term along with BDSM terms.... you come across interesting things when you go to web sites that sell corsets)

Okay sorry got distracted there for a minute. Here are a few things I found on Amazon that I would love to own. And may eventually buy.

I mentioned Poe right?

I'm Back

New Mission Statement:

Like most people these days I have nothing to spend on clothes. Clearly posting a picture each day will run through my wardrobe pretty fast. Also many of the items are starting to show a lot of wear. However I dearly loved this site and still think there is a place for a discussion of real clothes that real people wear.

What I'd like to do is tweak my previous format. Yes I will still include pictures when I've got something to share but mostly I want to discuss trends. Thinks I like, things I dislike (Hello Lobster claw stilettos, seriously look it up). I know I've lost the few readers I once had but perhaps there will be more someday. After all this blog has always been a labor of love.

I'm Sure You Noticed But.....

Clearly I've given up on this site. It makes me sad (wipes away tear). I just don't have the time to maintain 2 sites, work full time, be a Mom, and sleep (this was the one that was suffering). However I do have a couple reviews of products I'll be posting soon on my other blog and I have some new clothes which I'll hopefully get Dave to take some pictures of which I will also post there soon. So if there's anyone who checks this site any more head on over to Day2Day Madness for you fix of random Daniness.

What's Up With My Love Of Tee's?

I rarely wear t-shirts. Maybe occasionally on the weekend if I'm not planing to leave the house. And I totally hate all the ones you see in catalogues that are supposed to be funny. So why oh why have I been finding so many that I LOVE this last year? Seriously I just got one a few weeks ago that said "Screw being a princess I wanna be a vampire" and earlier this year I bought 3 other shirts that you'd need to see to appreciate (Hmmmm. Pictures this weekend perhaps) but when I saw the one below it was like love at first t-shirt site. I'm not sure what's up with that. I've just been very attracted to some of the semi goth type items that have been in style the last couple years......Or maybe just 'cause it's a really cool picture. Very Ophelia.
BTW it's available from Alloy if you like it too. I'm sure you can get it other places as well but I haven't looked.
